Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 1 cup mashed ripe bananas (about 2 large)
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup walnuts (optional)
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 4 tablespoons cold butter, cubed
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs (at room temperature)
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and prepare an angel food cake pan with cooking spray.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. In another bowl, beat softened butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, followed by mashed bananas and vanilla.
  4. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients alternating with sour cream until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips and walnuts if using.
  5. Spoon half the batter into the prepared pan; layer with cream cheese filling made from cream cheese, reserved batter, sugar, and vanilla; top with remaining batter.
  6. Sprinkle with streusel made from chopped walnuts, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and cold butter before baking for about 55-60 minutes.
  7. Allow to cool before drizzling with a vanilla glaze.
