  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 12 lasagna noodles (cooked al dente)
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley or basil

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with the chopped onion. Drain excess fat.
  2. Stir in minced garlic, crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, and seasonings. Simmer for 25–30 minutes.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, Parmesan cheese, and parsley until creamy.
  4. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  5. In a baking dish, layer meat sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella. Repeat until all ingredients are used.
  6. Bake covered with foil for 25 minutes; then uncover and bake for another 20 minutes until bubbly.
  7. Let rest for 15 minutes before serving.
