- 110 g whole milk
- 1 egg
- 50 g sugar
- 1 pinch of salt
- 20 g unsalted butter (for the dough)
- 80 g unsalted butter (for layering)
- 1 tablespoon orange marmalade
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Egg wash (1 beaten egg mixed with 1 tablespoon milk)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, yeast, egg, milk, and vanilla. Mix until a rough dough forms; let it rest for 10 minutes.
- Add sugar and salt; mix well and rest again for another 10 minutes.
- Incorporate the first amount of butter until smooth; refrigerate for one hour.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread the second amount of softened butter evenly on top.
- Fold the dough into quarters; refrigerate for another hour.
- Roll out again into a rectangle and cut into triangles.
- Roll each triangle tightly from the base to form cornetti shapes; place on a lined baking tray.
- Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with sugar; let rise until doubled in size (about 30 minutes).
- Bake at 180°C (356°F) for about 20 minutes until golden brown.
