  • 8 ounces cremini mushrooms (sliced)
  • 3 tablespoons butter (divided)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup white apple vinegar
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt & pepper (to taste)
  • Flour (for dredging)

Instructions

  1. Cut the chicken breasts in half lengthwise. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper; dredge lightly in flour.
  2. Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken for about 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown. Transfer to a plate.
  3. In the same skillet, add remaining butter and sliced mushrooms with Italian seasoning; cook for 5-6 minutes until mushrooms soften.
  4. Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  5. Pour in white apple vinegar and let bubble for 2-3 minutes until reduced by half.
  6. Add heavy cream and return chicken to skillet; simmer for about 5 minutes until cooked through and sauce thickens slightly.
