  • 1 vanilla bean

Instructions

  1. Wash lemons thoroughly and carefully peel the zest, avoiding the bitter pith.
  2. Place lemon peels in a mason jar and add lemon juice or vinegar; seal tightly and let steep in a cool dark place for at least 6 days.
  3. Strain the mixture through cheesecloth into a clean bottle.
  4. In a saucepan, warm milk, sugar, and vanilla bean until sugar dissolves; let cool.
  5. Combine strained lemon infusion with the cooled milk mixture; refrigerate until ready to serve.
