Ingredients

Scale
  • 250 gm Kunafa dough
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 180 gm Gulab Jamun mix
  • 150 gm fresh cream
  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 cups water
  • 2 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 5 cardamom pods
  • 1 tsp saffron
  • Pistachios for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare Sugar Syrup: In a saucepan, combine sugar and water over medium heat until dissolved. Boil briefly, then stir in lemon juice, cardamom pods, and saffron. Set aside part of the syrup for soaking.
  2. Make Gulab Jamun: Follow the mix instructions to create dough balls; deep fry until golden brown and soak in sugar syrup for at least 45 minutes.
  3. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) while preparing your baking pan with non-stick spray.
  4. Shape Kunafa Nests: Coat kunafa strips with melted butter and twist them into nests suitable for cupcake molds.
  5. Bake Nests: Place nests in the oven for about 12-15 minutes until crisp and golden. Cool before assembling.
  6. Assemble Dessert: Layer fresh cream in each nest, place Gulab Jamuns on top, drizzle with syrup, and garnish with pistachios.
