Description

Homemade Limoncello is a delightful and refreshing lemon-infused drink that captures the bright essence of fresh lemons. This easy recipe is perfect for warm weather, special occasions, or simply to enjoy on its own. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a vibrant homemade limoncello that not only tastes great but also makes for an impressive gift. Chill it to serve as a spritz or drizzle it over desserts for an added burst of citrus flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 750 ml fresh lemon juice
  • 8 lemons (for zest)
  • 4 cups water
  • 3 cups granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. Peel the lemons carefully, avoiding the white pith, and place the peels in a glass container.
  2. Pour in the fresh lemon juice and seal the container tightly. Store it in a cool, dark place for at least two weeks (or up to one month), gently shaking it every few days.
  3. In a medium pot, combine the sugar and water over medium heat until fully dissolved, then cool in the fridge.
  4. After steeping, strain out the lemon peels and mix the cooled syrup with the lemon infusion.
  5. Bottle your limoncello in glass containers, label if desired, and serve chilled.
