  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup softened butter
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 large apples (chopped finely)
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (for topping)
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon (for topping)
  • 2 Tbsp butter (for glaze)
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract (for glaze)
  • 1/8 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 11×7 inch pan with foil or cooking spray.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, cream the butter and sugars until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla and cinnamon.
  3. Gradually mix in dry ingredients and fold in the chopped apples.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for about 25 minutes until golden brown.
  5. For the topping, melt butter in a pan, then stir in brown sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until dissolved.
  6. Create the maple glaze by whisking together melted butter, maple syrup, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until smooth.
  7. Cool blondies for 10 minutes before drizzling both toppings on top. Allow to cool completely before slicing.
