  • 1/2 cup candied citrus peel, chopped
  • 1/4 cup apple juice for soaking (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C) and grease a 9×5 inch baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg.
  3. In another bowl, cream softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time.
