Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ½ Cups Light Brown Sugar
  • 1 Cup Unsalted Butter
  • 14 Ounces Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • ½ Cup Corn Syrup
  • ⅓ Cup Maple Syrup
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • 8 Granny Smith Apples
  • 8 Skewers

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the apples thoroughly, then insert skewers into each apple's core until secure.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine light brown sugar, unsalted butter, sweetened condensed milk, corn syrup, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir continuously until melted and combined.
  3. Use a candy thermometer to monitor the temperature; cook until it reaches 240°F (soft ball stage).
  4. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Dip each apple into the caramel sauce, swirling to coat evenly. Allow excess caramel to drip off before placing on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  5. While the caramel is still warm, add optional toppings like chopped nuts or chocolate wafers if desired. Let cool completely at room temperature.
