- 330 g self-raising flour
- 360 g granulated sugar
- 360 g butter (or alternative)
- 6 eggs
- 30 g unsweetened black cocoa powder
- 1½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 90 ml milk
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 400 g butter (salted)
- 800 g powdered sugar (icing sugar)
- 1¼ tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp milk or cream (optional)
- Electric green food coloring (a few drops)
- 250 g Orange fondant
- 200 g Black fondant
- 1 tbsp CMC powder
- Sprinkles
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease your baking tins.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well.
- Sift flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt into another bowl. Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet mixture along with milk and vanilla until smooth.
- Pour batter into prepared tins and bake for about 50 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- For the buttercream, beat salted butter and powdered sugar until creamy; add vanilla extract and food coloring to achieve desired shade.
- Cut cooled cake into small pieces and layer them in jars with green buttercream until filled.
- Decorate with fondant shapes and sprinkles.
