- 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 cup light brown sugar (packed)
- 8 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups milk (2% or whole)
- 1 to 2 tablespoons vanilla extract
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 to 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 pound French bread (diced in 1 to 1 1/2-inch cubes)
Instructions
- Spray a 9×13-inch casserole dish with cooking spray; set aside.
- In a medium bowl, combine melted butter and brown sugar until it resembles wet sand. Scatter this mixture in the bottom of the prepared dish.
- In a large bowl, lightly beat eggs and add milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, ground ginger, and salt. Whisk until fully combined.
- Add diced French bread to the egg mixture and gently toss using a spatula until all pieces are coated.
