  • 34 pounds Beef brisket point cut (or flat cut)
  • 12 large yellow or sweet onion (sliced)
  • 18 ounces BBQ sauce
  • 1 liter cola (regular)

Instructions

  1. Sear the brisket: Heat vegetable oil in a removable stove-top slow cooker insert over medium-high heat. Brown the brisket on both sides and set aside.
  2. Cook onions: In the same pot, add sliced onions and sauté until softened.
  3. Combine: Place the seared brisket back into the pot on top of the onions. Pour BBQ sauce over it and add cola until it reaches halfway up the brisket.
  4. Slow cook: Cover and cook on low for approximately 8 hours until fork-tender.
  5. Slice & shred: Remove brisket from the slow cooker, slice against the grain, or shred as preferred.
