  • 1 1/4 cups whole milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons fine sea salt
  • 4 3/4 cups bread flour
  • 1 egg (for topping)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (for topping)
  • 1 tablespoon honey (for topping)
  • Flaky sea salt (for sprinkling)

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat, then add milk until warm (115-120°F).
  2. In a stand mixer bowl, combine warm milk mixture with beaten eggs, honey, yeast, and salt. Gradually add half of the flour while mixing.
  3. Attach the dough hook and incorporate remaining flour until smooth and elastic.
  4. Let the dough rise in a greased bowl covered with plastic wrap until doubled in size (90 minutes to 2 hours).
  5. Shape into 15 equal balls, place in a greased baking pan, cover loosely, and let rise again until doubled (about an hour).
  6. Preheat oven to 375°F. Bake rolls for 20-22 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Brush with melted butter mixed with honey immediately after baking.
